My rant about the 10 commandments situation in Alabama today and a beautiful morning glory pair.

These morning glories are blooming in even more vivid colors today. God's glory!
God Send Us a Miracle
God send us a miracle to show you care
they're moving your monument and I sure care
5000 pounds of bickering
I see candles of hope flickering
Have we not learned anything?
Nine eleven showed us the world's sins
We should all be more tolerant
and stop these bickers and petty rants
I understand separation of church and state
but practicality and love should rate
If we start here will it ever end?
I thought God you were America's friend?
One nation under God should have some weight
and those commandments are so great
reminding us the law to follow
United under God sounds strong not hollow
Aren't the majority here a Christian state?
If we start bending what will be our fate?
Such matters give me a headache
Freedom of speech makes for loud earthquakes
God if you could make a bush start burning
and part the seas please hear my yearning
We need a miracle to show you care
like shattering that monument if you dare
I'd love to see something so dramatic
Show your concern so emphatic
I'm just sick of all the bickering,
Yup, that candle is flickering!

Imagine this...
The monument of the 10 Commandments that is causing so much turmoil in Alabama were to suddenly quake and split in half struck by lightening. Hissing serpents spring forth! Then a fire breaks out and the snakes melt to ash. From that springs a flock of pure white doves! The monument heals and two doves perch upon it. A rainbow falls behind them and rose petals fall like leaves from the sky. The crowds are silenced and then say Ahhhhhhhhh as everyone, all colors and faiths, join hands in peace.
Fade to black...
Only in the movies?
Well I had to speak my mind here again because I am so sick of all this nonsense. Angry too. I believe this shows our weaknesses to all those non-Christian terrorists too somehow. I always picture them snickering at us when we go thru something that tears our nation apart and causes us problems. Our country was founded on religious freedom from persecution. It was also founded under Christianity and God. It is part of our history. There is a statue of St, Peter in the Library of Congress and other Christian symbols and sculptures throughout the Capitol. Should we take all this art down?
And what about state's rights? If they can rule on gay marriages should they decide this? Perhaps it is inappropriate in a government building but hey it weighs 5300 pounds and is there already. Just look at the waste of time, money and energy we could be putting to better use! Our favorite charities could sure use it.
I am more dismayed then outraged. More nauseous then enraged. I am saddened. Call me old fashioned, but I just worry, what next? Well at least we CAN protest about it!

The 10 Commandments are found in the Bible's Old Testament at Exodus, Chapter 20. They were given directly by God to the people of Israel at Mount Sinai after He had delivered them from slavery in Egypt:

EIGHT: 'Thou shall not steal.'
NINE: 'Thou shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.'
TEN: 'Thou shall not covet your neighbor's house; thou shall not covet your neighbor's wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor's.'
